SAD NEWS: Legendary Jack Beckman from drag racing has been announce dead at the age of 58 years today

One of the industry’s icons, Jack Beckman, 58, passed suddenly today, and the drag racing community is in grief. Recognized for his extraordinary aptitude on the track and his captivating demeanor off it, Beckman’s passing has created a vacuum in the sport he so ardently supported.

Nicknamed “Fast Jack,” Beckman won the 2012 NHRA Funny Car title. He was a prior champion. Throughout the course of his multi-decade career, he won over fans not just for his racing prowess but also for his valiant fight against cancer, which he had defeated earlier in life. He was seen as a sign of hope by many because of his tenacity and optimism.

As an instructor at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, Beckman was well-known for his love of teaching and imparting his knowledge in addition to his achievements on the drag strip. His influence went beyond his awards; he was a mentor to many young drivers.
