Five patrons and two nearby residents lost their life when the cherished Buxton Munch Restaurant was totally destroyed by a roaring fire in the Outer Banks. Unexpectedly, the restaurant caught fire, quickly consuming it and spreading to neighboring structures, leaving destruction in its wake.

Despite their quick arrival on the site, firefighters and other emergency personnel were unable to save the iconic restaurant or stop the terrible deaths. Although preliminary indications indicate the fire may have begun in the kitchen area before getting out of control, authorities are still looking into what caused it.

Long a mainstay of the neighborhood, the Buxton Munch Restaurant is loved by locals and visitors alike for its welcoming ambiance and mouthwatering cuisine. The Outer Banks community is in sorrow after its devastation, with many people expressing shock and sadness over the unfortunate incident.
