Steve Largent had his No. 83 jersey retired by Tulsa, where he was an All-American and is still tied for the most touchdown receptions (32) in school history. Largent’s No. 80 was retired by the Seattle Seahawks, for whom Largent played all 14 seasons of his hall of fame NFL career. And on Friday, Largent’s No. 82 jersey will be retired by Putnam City High School, where it all started.
Largent, who graduated from Putnam City in 1972, will be the first Pirate in school history, in any sport, to have their number retired.

In 200 games with the Seakhawks, Largent caught 100 touchdown passes. He had 819 career receptions for 13,089 yards.
Upon his retirement after the 1989 season, Largent held six NFL receiving records: most career receptions, most yards, most touchdown catches, most consecutive games with a reception (177), most seasons with 50-plus receptions (10) and most seasons with 1,000-plus receiving yards (eight).
