Heartbreaking: Hansi Hinterseer Austrian singer and actor Just Passed Away At the Aged of 70…see…more… Hansi Hinterseer turns 70 on February 2. To mark his milestone birthday, “Bild” met him in private and spoke to him about his life and his great love.

 

The former ski racer and current singer has been married to the Swiss Romana Hinterseer since 1986.

 

“We were both invited to the opening of a fitness studio in Gstaad. That’s where we met for the first time. That’s when it went bingo. I was immediately fascinated by her eyes,” confesses Hansi Hinterseer.

 

Meanwhile Romana adds: “I knew him as a skier from television. Although I’m Swiss, I said: ‘He looks nice. He can win’. After the first meeting, Hansi had to go to the USA. He wrote me a letter from there. It consisted almost entirely of hearts.”

 

Romana writes songs for her husband

The Hinterseer couple agree on the secret of their relationship: respect.

 

And they would give each other freedom. They also enjoy spending time together now that the children are grown up and out of the house. Hansi and Romana have two daughters, Jessica and Laura, who already have children of their own – so Hansi and Romana are grandparents.

 

Romana also doesn’t mind the female fans who rave about her husband: “I’m proud of Hansi. They should enjoy him on stage. I have him otherwise.”

 

And speaking of the stage: Romana has already written 22 songs for Hansi Hinterseer. “Because I’ve known Hansi for so long, I know exactly what he wants to sing and say to his fans.”

 

Even the inspiration for the music came from Romana. But he also did it “because other sportsmen like Franz Beckenbauer or Toni Sailer recorded a record”. His big career was made possible by Jack White. However, he no longer has any contact with the star producer.

 

Hansi Hinterseer: “I don’t have to prove anything, I enjoy”

Although Hansi Hinterseer is no longer in the spotlight so often, Romana says: “No matter where we go, he is recognized. All over the world. But he is always so modest.”

 

Even in Japan, people would address him as “Hansi san”. The singer and former skier is amused by this.

 

The couple are not worried about the future. The Hinterseers are simply hoping for a few more happy years together.

 

Hansi: “I don’t think what might happen. Maybe something will happen professionally – or maybe not. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I’m enjoying myself.”
